Hello
Thank you for taking the time to complete the ‘Key Worker Travel’ consultation. Your input is greatly appreciated and the information is helping us in our plans to increase public transport provision as people start to return to work in response to the government’s recent announcement.
Some changes were introduced on 14 May 2020. In summary:
Mersey Ferries: Peak time commuter services have resumed;
Mersey Tunnels: Tunnel Tolls have been reinstated. The temporary relaxation of byelaws allowing cyclists to use the Queensway Tunnel has been removed for safety reasons;
Bus: The temporary lifting of 9.30am concessionary travel restrictions has been removed to ease demand during peak times.
From Monday 18 May 2020 Merseyrail will be increasing services. Please visit www.merseyrail.org for full details.
Please keep checking regularly for information about services and timetables. For all the latest news visit www.merseytravel.gov.uk or check with individual bus and rail operators.
Best Regards

Hello
Thank you for taking the time to complete the ‘Key Worker Travel’ consultation. It is greatly appreciated and will help us to provide the best service we can at this difficult time.
The more people involved, the better we will understand the travel issues key workers are having. It’s easy to share the project via social media with your key worker colleagues, friends and family who depend on public transport. https://lcrcriticalworkertravel.commonplace.is/
For those who have expressed an interest in making their journeys by bike, some local cycle retailers have been offering bikes for key workers. Below are ones we are aware of, but there could be others. Contact your local supplier for latest details.

Please note, the Birkenhead Tunnel is currently open to cyclists. In line with government guidance this facility should only be used by those making essential journeys.
